Omschrijving
Onvoldoende kaakbotvolume als gevolg van botverlies door systemische of lokale oorzaken, is een veelvoorkomend probleem bij het plaatsen van tandheelkundige implantaten. De zoektocht naar het ideale botregeneratie materiaal is nog altijd actueel: een materiaal met een uitstekend botregeneratiepotentieel, minimale morbiditeit, voldoende beschikbaarheid en lage kosten.
Tijdens het symposium Botweg staan de nieuwste wetenschappelijke én klinische inzichten op het gebied van kaakbotregeneratie centraal. Vooraanstaande experts delen hun kennis over celbiologische processen, (bio)materialen, chirurgische technieken en innovatieve behandelstrategieën.

Doelgroep
De cursus is bedoeld voor tandarts(-implantologen) en MKA-chirurgen. Deze cursus is op basis van WO werk- en denkniveau.

Dr. ing. J.J.P. (Jeroen) van den Beucken, PhD
Jeroen van den Beucken is a medical biologist interested in interactions between cells/tissues and biomaterials. For his research, he predominantly focuses on bone regeneration and the initiation of bone formation. His expertise covers material science, cell culture models, animal bone defect models, and clinical translation. His current work focuses on cell-cell interactions (e.g. stem cells with other cell types, such as immune and cancer cells) that govern healthy tissue formation or pathological conditions. Jeroen has published >250 research papers and (co-)supervised 27 PhD-students to completion. He further has strong research collaborations with researchers all over the world to combine efforts dedicated to either fundamental questions on bone physiology or translational work on bone regeneration and regenerative materials. He is a member of the TERMIS Editorial Committee and the scientific societies NBTE (Dutch), ESB, and TERMIS.
Drs. M.P. (Melle) Vroom, tandarts-parodontoloog NVVP / tandarts-implantoloog NVOI
Melle Vroom studeerde in 1994 af als tandarts aan het Academisch Centrum Tandheelkunde Amsterdam (ACTA). Na waarnemingen in enkele praktijken werd in 1995 gestart met de opleiding Master of Science parodontologie welke in 1998 werd afgerond. Sinds 1998 is hij werkzaam in de Parodontologie Praktijk Friesland. In 1999 werd hij erkend als tandarts-parodontoloog (NVvP) en sinds 2007 als tandarts- implantoloog (NVOI). In de periode 2003 –2007 is hij secretaris geweest van de NVvP. Hij geeft nationaal en internationaal lezingen over het gebruik van d-PTFE membranen en verzorgt hands-on trainingen. Sinds 2023 is hij gastonderzoeker op de Universiteit Groningen afdeling Parodontologie CTM. In 2024 won hij de NVvP-ORAL-B-Onderzoeksprijs.
Dr. V. (Vivian) Wu, tandarts-implantoloog NVOI
Vivian Wu holds an MSc with honors in Dentistry from the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA, 2016), as well as an MSc in Oral Implantology and Prosthodontics (ACTA, 2019). She is trained to treat a wide range of patients in both the surgical and prosthetic aspects of oral implantology. Vivian is a Dutch board-certified implantologist, recognized by the Nederlandse Vereniging voor Orale Implantologie (NVOI) since 2019. She runs a referral practice for oral implantology, Implantologie Rijnland, in Voorhout.
In 2023, Vivian received her PhD from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam for her dissertation titled “Clinical Studies on Jaw Bone Regeneration: Application of Autologous Bone Grafts, Bone Substitutes, and Adipose Stem Cells.” In this groundbreaking research, she combined her clinical expertise with biologically inspired engineering, delving into the innovative field of tissue engineering.
Vivian’s impressive academic and clinical accomplishments have positioned her as a rising talent in the clinical and academic field. She co-authored the 2018 International Team for Implantology (ITI) Consensus Statements, contributing to international clinical guidelines in implantology, and has published extensively in prestigious scientific journals. Her multi-disciplinary talents are also reflected in her involvement in high-profile extracurricular activities from an early stage. Notably, she received an award for her performance at the Harvard National Model United Nations, a diplomatic simulation addressing global health challenges. In 2021, Elsevier Weekblad recognized her as one of the ‘30 Under 30’—a distinction given to the brightest young talents shaping the future of the Netherlands
Cursusdatum en locatie
Op vrijdag 14 november 2025 zal deze cursus, van 10.00 tot 17.00 uur, plaatsvinden in Kasteel de Vanenburg in Putten. Dat betekent dat deze dag de totale studiebelasting behelst.
Inschrijving
De NVOI cursus Botweg wordt eenmaal per jaar georganiseerd. Het maximaal aantal deelnemers is vastgesteld op 60 personen. De inschrijving vindt plaats op volgorde van aanmelding. U kunt zich direct online inschrijven.
Cursuskosten
De kosten voor De Startende Implantoloog bedragen € 295,00. Deze kosten zijn inclusief het lesmateriaal, koffie- en theebuffet, lunch en afsluitende borrel.
KRT punten / NVMKA punten
De cursus Botweg zal worden aangemeld bij zowel het Kwaliteits Register Tandartsen (KRT) en de Nederlandse Vereniging voor Mondziekten, Kaak- en Aangezichtschirurgie (NVMKA). Bij accreditatie kunnen de deelnemers na afloop een certificaat van deelname aanvragen via het secretariaat. De punten worden automatisch, na het volgen van de cursus, bij PE-online bijgeschreven.
